EXHIBIT AT CLOUD SPACE

11 Little West 12th Street, NYC
May 15 - 30, 2008
Opening Reception: May 18th, 6pm - 9pm

For the 3rd Annual Meatpacking District Design Week, Jussara Lee and The Canary Project will present an outdoor installation of Brazilian artist Marcelo Maimoni's new work: The Unfaithful Servant.

Marcelo Maimoni is a Brazil- based artist, working with organic materials for the past 12 years, reflecting the human interference in the environment. He has utilized and transformed residues into sculptures that bring to the public attention the poor usage of natural resources and how easily they are discarded. His work has been exhibited in the Sao Paulo International Biennial, Canning House Gallery and Conisby Gallery in London, UCCLA in Lisbon. This installation during Design Week will be his debut exhibition in The United States.

For the Opening Reception on May 18th there will be a special appearance of the Albedo Pilgrims wearing dresses designed by Jussara Lee and Annie Murdock.

The installation will also include photographs by Daniel de Granville depicting massive plots of land being burnt in Brazil to make room for the cultivation of sugar cane to produce ethanol.

The installation will take place at 11 Little West 12th Street, in an open-air exhibition space created by Jussara Lee and The Canary Project called The Cloud Space. The Cloud Space is dedicated to installations that make use of natural or repurposed materials and works to draw attention to environmental issues.
